The mission of Pilots To The Rescue is to prevent at-risk animals from being euthanized by transporting them via air and ground transportation to give them the best chance at adoption. Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage and grow a portfolio of prospects and donors (individuals, corporations, family foundations, grant-making organizations).
- Work closely with the Founder and Executive Director to create strategies for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors, including the design and execution of complex, high-level solicitations.
- Make a minimum of 20 meaningful donor contacts per month and an average of 3-4 major gift solicitations per month.
- Bring an entrepreneurial approach to engaging new, promising prospects through research and leveraging Pilots To The Rescue urgent and necessary missions.
- Align prospects’ interests and philanthropic goals with current and emerging funding priorities.
- Develop fundraising strategies to leverage Pilots To The Rescue’s Rescue Missions
- Cultivate working relationships with leadership and team to understand the needs and opportunities for the organization.
- Leverage Third Party Events to attract new prospects and deepen engagement with current donors.
- Build and Oversee a Young Professional Board
- Develop compelling written project descriptions (case for support) and proposals.
- Develop and implement strategic stewardship plans.
- Partner with the Pilots To The Rescue’s team and Board of Directors to ensure reporting requirements are met for all donors.
- Leverage opportunities throughout the year to deepen donor engagement.
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of development experience, with a track record of soliciting and closing major gifts from individuals, corporations and/or foundations.
- Ability to strategically link Pilots To The Rescue’s priorities and programs with donors’ interests and funding opportunities.
- Ability to employ varied approaches in order to realize maximum success in fundraising.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills; experience interacting with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience utilizing a fundraising database.
- Strong organizational skills and a self-starter with a high level of initiative.
- Unquestionable integrity and commitment to professional ethics, and the ability to responsibly handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Genuine passion for Pilots To The Rescue’s mission and cause
- Available to travel nationally and undertake occasional evening and weekend work.
