Position Information
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors’ degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Minimum of six (6) years’ experience in Division I Intercollegiate Athletics or major professional sports in coaching or communications/marketing
- Demonstrated experience as a leader to provide direction to student athletes and/or staff members.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, organizational, verbal, writing, interpersonal skills.
- Ability to plan, establish priorities, and organize varied and complex tasks.
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays depending on work and game schedules.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, work as part of a team and motivate staff in a fast – paced environment.
- Demonstrated support for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the university by the university’s insurance carrier.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the management of sports related facility
- Demonstrated success securing major gifts (greater than $25,000) in NCAA Intercollegiate Athletics

Position Purpose
The Associate Athletic Director for External Operations serves as a member of the department’s senior leadership team that is committed to excellence and advancing the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics through its strategic plan and vision. This senior level administrator will provide leadership, direction and managerial supervision for Communications, Creative and Emerging Media/Video, Licensing/Branding, and Athletic Development.
