POSITION SUMMARY
The Individual Giving Manager is responsible for enacting strategies and managing processes to ensure that we thoughtfully cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors to reach enterprise and regional fundraising targets. The Individual Giving Manager will create and develop donor communication and briefings, track fundraising metrics, and support in the management of individual donors within the national development and regional team portfolios. Other responsibilities include managing messaging and solicitation campaigns for low-dollar, mid-level, and major gift donors.
In addition to administrative support of organizational major gifts work, the Manager will oversee annual fund campaigns and may be asked to support the growing Young Professionals group and regional advisory councils.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Donor Cultivation, Solicitation, and Stewardship
- In partnership with the Chief Development Officer, manage the process to cultivate, solicit, and steward individual giving donors in both the national and regional individual giving portfolios. Support the individual giving donor engagement strategies of regional Executive Directors, CEO and CDO.
- Serve as a point of contact for regional Executive Directors for all individual giving fundraising strategies.
- In partnership with the Special Events Manager, Marketing and Communications team and other teammates, create compelling fundraising communication about STRIVE vision, priorities, and goals to deepen supporters’ understanding of and commitment to STRIVE.
Portfolio Management
- Support the CDO in developing and implementing a multi-year enterprise fundraising strategy to expand individual giving donor portfolios focusing on donor acquisition, retention, renewals, and upgrades.
- Develop and help execute donor-by-donor engagement plans, built on clear understanding of donor intent, motivations, and barriers.
- Leverage compelling and inspiring fundraising events to engage and connect with new and existing donors.
- Prepare for donor meetings, including developing accurate, concise and thoughtful meeting briefs.
Development Operations
- Utilize Raiser’s Edge NXT database to manage and input data related to individual giving portfolio and donor stewardship touch points.
- Maintain and update records of donor engagement activities into our database of record.
- Staff meetings to discuss donor strategy, taking notes and proactively advancing action items.
Prospect Research and Analysis
- Conduct prospect research and data analyses of potential, new, and existing individual giving donors to inform engagement strategies.
- Analyze historical and current data to inform donor strategy.
Other
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required, and a minimum of four years’ experience working in a fundraising environment with an understanding of the fields of annual fund giving, planned giving, or major gifts fundraising.
- Experience securing or supporting others in securing gifts of $5,000 or more.
- Experience conducting cultivation and stewardship activities or working with donor committees to cultivate and maintain positive donor relationships.
- Exceptional writer and effective communicator, with ability to tailor approach to different constituency groups.
- Exceptional critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated adaptability and ability to manage multiple requests and prioritize those requests to meet deadlines through excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Must have experience with CRM systems. Experience with Blackbaud/Raisers Edge/NXT a plus.
- Comfortable with cross-departmental collaboration and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience in the workforce development, economic mobility or criminal justice reform sectors not required but a plus.

Location: This position will be in-person a minimum of two days per week at STRIVE New York’s office in East Harlem
