Director of Development and Communications
Trinity Boston Connects (TBC), a respected social justice nonprofit, is seeking a Director of Development and Communications to join this dynamic and fast-growing community change organization. The mission of Trinity Boston Connects is to heal the traumatic impact of systemic racism in Boston, and to create a more equitable Boston in which youth of color can thrive. We are looking for an individual who believes passionately in the mission of Trinity Boston Connects, is personally committed to racial equity, and is willing to learn about trauma-informed approaches and restorative justice.
The Organization
TBC was born out of the social justice mission of Trinity Church in the City of Boston. Our programs create safe and supportive communities that inspire youth to develop the social-emotional learning (SEL) skills necessary for academic, life and career success. TBC helps to develop these skills through three Youth Development & Leadership (YDL) Pathway programs: Trinity@RuthBatson, Trinity Education for Excellence Program (TEEP) and Sole Train: Boston Runs Together, providing direct services to over 600 youth and families.
The Position
The Director of Development and Communications (DoDC) is responsible for setting the Development and Communications strategy to reach annual and multi-year goals and for overseeing all activities to achieve those goals including major gifts, annual fund, special events, and corporate, foundation and government support, and robust communications strategy. The DoDC will report to the Executive Director, manage two direct reports and a communications consultant, and serve as a member of TBC’s Leadership Team. The DoDC will provide strategic direction and day-to-day management to the Associate Director, Institutional Giving and the Development Operations and Events Manager. The DoDC will manage an external communications consultant who will provide strategic and project support.
This is a full-time exempt position.
