Overview
We are seeking a passionate and strategic Development Director to lead our fundraising initiatives and enhance our organization's impact. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in grant proposal writing, event planning, and social media management. This role requires a dynamic individual who can cultivate relationships with donors, manage fundraising events, and drive strategic planning efforts to support our mission.
Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet organizational goals.
- Write compelling grant proposals to secure funding from various sources.
- Manage and oversee all aspects of events planning, including logistics, promotion, and execution.
- Utilize MailChimp for email marketing campaigns to engage supporters and promote events.
- Conduct research on potential funding opportunities and donor prospects.
- Oversee social media management to enhance the organization’s online presence and outreach efforts.
- Collaborate with school partners for strategic initiatives and community engagement.
- Lead strategic planning sessions to align fundraising efforts with organizational objectives and board.
- Maintain up-to-date donor database to track all interactions, donations, and communications accurately.
- Plan and execute fundraising events, ensuring they align with the organization’s strategic goals.
- Manage event logistics, sponsorships, promotional efforts, and follow-up to maximize both participation and funds raised.
- Cultivate relationships with local city officials and council members to secure city grants and support.
- Oversee the application process for city grants and manage reporting requirements.
- Develop a comprehensive donor stewardship plan to recognize and engage donors at all levels.
- Create tailored communication and engagement strategies for individual and corporate donors to enhance long-term relationships.
- Support the Executive Director in the recruitment, training, and engagement of board members and junior board.
- Facilitate regular board meetings, providing updates on fundraising activities and initiatives.
- Foster relationships with board members to leverage their networks for fundraising opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
- A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in development, fundraising, or non-profit management.
- Proven experience in grant proposal writing and securing funding.
- Strong skills in event management and planning, with a track record of successful fundraising events.
- Proficiency with donor management software and data analytics.
- Proficiency in using MailChimp or similar software for email marketing campaigns.
- Excellent research skills to identify potential funding opportunities and donor prospects.
- Experience in social media management to effectively communicate the organization’s mission.
- Ability to work collaboratively with school partners and stakeholders.
- Strong strategic planning capabilities with an understanding of nonprofit operations.
- Passion for youth development and the mission of FAN4Kids.

The job is not incredibly physically demanding, but the candidate would need to be on his or her feet and moving around during the school day or at an F4K school event.
