JOB SUMMARY: Care of farm animals and maintenance of stable and surrounding areas.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Feeding and handling equine therapy horses, turn out, stall cleaning and stable management, safely operating light vehicles and farm machinery such as mower, golf carts, tractor
· Providing general care to horses and other farm animals including wound care and administering of medications when needed
· May also include minor repairs and general maintenance of grounds.
· Preserves the integrity and confidentiality of protected health information of Easter Seals clients.
· Understands, acknowledges, and implements Easterseals privacy policies involving the disclosure of protected health information of Easterseals clients.
· Demonstrates a strong commitment to self-development.
· Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment.
· Completes all assignments and responsibilities, is flexible and a team player.
· Acts in accordance with the Easterseals behavioral expectations, mission, vision and values.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Minimum of 1 year experience working with horses.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Ability to operate tractor, golf carts, zero-turn mower and power tools.
· Positive attitude towards individuals with disabilities and the Easter Seals work environment and philosophy.
· Willingness to be flexible.
· Possess the qualities of integrity, tact, and good judgment.
PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:
· Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
USE OF TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:
· Ability to operate small equipment and power tools.
