The Chief Development Officer (CDO) is responsible for leading and executing the organization's fundraising, business development, and strategic growth initiatives. This role involves overseeing donor relations, partnerships, and revenue generation efforts to ensure the organization meets its financial and strategic goals. The CDO collaborates closely with the executive leadership team, board members, and key stakeholders to drive sustainable development and long-term success.

Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising & Revenue Generation: Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies, including major gifts, corporate sponsorships, grants, and capital campaigns.
Strategic Planning: Design and execute a long-term development plan that aligns with the organization's mission and growth objectives.
Donor Relations & Stewardship: Cultivate and maintain relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors to enhance funding opportunities.
Partnership & Business Development: Identify and establish strategic partnerships that support revenue growth and program expansion.
Board & Leadership Engagement: Work closely with the Board of Directors and executive leadership to drive fundraising initiatives and development goals.
Marketing & Communications: Oversee development-related marketing efforts, including donor communications, brand positioning, and promotional campaigns.
Team Leadership & Management: Lead and mentor the development team, ensuring best practices in fundraising, grant writing, and donor stewardship.
Financial Oversight: Develop and manage the development budget, ensuring financial targets and operational efficiency are met.
Data & Analytics: Utilize data-driven insights to measure the effectiveness of development strategies and make informed decisions.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business, Nonprofit Management, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Minimum of 10 years of experience in fundraising, business development, or nonprofit leadership.
Proven track record of securing major gifts, sponsorships, and funding partnerships.
Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
Experience with CRM systems and fundraising software.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
Strong financial acumen and budget management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations.
Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements for fundraising.
Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) or similar certification is a plus.
