Position Summary
ICIC serves as a national partner for Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses (10KSB), a program aimed at empowering entrepreneurs to create jobs and drive economic growth through access to education, capital, and business support services. ICIC manages and provides strategic guidance on outreach, application, and selection processes across all program locations.
ICIC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Outreach and Recruitment Coordinator to support recruitment efforts for the 10KSB program. The Coordinator will play a critical role in developing and implementing recruitment strategies, maintaining high communication standards with prospective applicants, and ensuring an efficient and effective applicant pipeline. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for supporting small businesses.
The position offers opportunity for increased responsibility and exposure to external stakeholders including the Goldman Sachs Foundation and Babson College (the education partner for the program).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Recruitment Strategy Development (40%)
- Develop and execute targeted outreach and recruitment strategies to attract eligible small business owners to the program.
- Identify and engage strategic partners, including business associations, chambers of commerce, economic development organizations, and other stakeholders to increase program visibility.
- Research and analyze market trends to refine outreach tactics and improve applicant conversion rates.
- Track and report recruitment metrics to assess effectiveness and make data-driven adjustments.
Outreach and Engagement (35%)
- Conduct direct outreach via phone, email, and in-person events to engage potential applicants and referral partners.
- Represent ICIC and the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program at networking events, industry conferences, and community meetings.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key referral sources and past program participants to strengthen recruitment efforts.
- Coordinate and support recruitment webinars, information sessions, and other promotional events.
Communication Management and Reporting (25%)
- Maintain communication standards by providing clear, consistent, and accurate information about program eligibility, application processes, and deadlines.
- Manage and update applicant records in the CRM system, ensuring accurate tracking of recruitment activities.
- Maintain and update recruitment materials, including email templates, FAQs, and informational brochures.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align messaging and outreach efforts.
- Prepare and present recruitment progress reports to ICIC leadership and program partners.
Qualifications
The successful candidate is a highly organized self-starter with experience providing recruitment analysis, outreach support, and relationship management while managing multi-stakeholder partnerships. This candidate will be inspired by the work that we do at ICIC and passionate about supporting small businesses. Specific qualifications include:
- A Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of relevant work experience OR 5+ years of relevant work experience, with some prior experience in program management, communications, business development, capacity building, and partnership building.
- At least 2-3 years of business development, capacity building, and partnership building required.
- Knowledge of economic development and small business operations is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
- Experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills and a keen attention to detail
- Professional communication skills for interacting with both internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks concurrently while managing competing demands
- Collaborative, solutions-oriented team player who enjoys working with other team members and departments
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the year, nationally
