Position Title: Research Associate II

Salary/Range: Dependent on Experience (DOE)

Status: Casual/Intermittent (approximately 19 hours/wk.), not benefits eligible

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, variable hours between 8:00am to 4:30pm

Salary: $22.56 - $26.00 per hour

Under supervision, performs basic research activities in a research laboratory. The Research Associate II will assist in basic laboratory experiments. They should be able to assist in experiments using small animal models, including downstream analyses of tissues, body fluids, and cells.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Collect blood, urine and tissue from animals at time of organ harvest

2. Perform basic laboratory techniques, including Western blot, ELISA, cell culture, and polymerase chain reaction

3. Establish and manage cell cultures and collect cell supernatants

4. Collect data and prepare charts and graphs describing scientific data collected

5. Complies with safety and security policies

6. May perform additional duties as assigned

7. Experience with excel, PowerPoint, GraphPad prism

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a related field from an accredited college or university AND at least 6 months of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
