Lincoln Hills Cares is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that develops the next generation of young leaders through outdoor and environmental education, cultural history exploration, and workforce advancement. Our programs empower communities by providing equitable access to and opportunities for outdoor and environmental learning and action. We rely heavily on fundraising to sustain our programs and services, and we are seeking a Development Director to lead our fundraising efforts.
Position Overview: The Development Director will be responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive fundraising program that includes major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, planned giving, and special events. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Director of Lincoln Hills Cares and the Board of Directors to develop fundraising goals and strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create fundraising and development policies and procedures to ensure Lincoln Hills Cares' fundraising efforts are intentional, ethical, legal, and transparent.
- Create and execute a strategic fundraising plan in collaboration with the Executive Director.
- Identify grant opportunities and follow through with the application process, including writing grants in collaboration with the executive director.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director on marketing and outreach efforts via social media and newsletters.
- Expand and enhance annual giving, major gifts, and planned giving programs, including an annual event or peer-to-peer campaign.
- Develop and maintain a detailed donor/gift database and tracking system.
- Implement and sustain donor recognition programs.
- Meet prospective donors and supporters to establish effective communication, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship/ Create and maintain relationships with prospective donors.
- Maintain grant compliance for awarded funds in collaboration with the Executive Director and relevant Board committee.
- Build and strengthen community connections through social media campaigns and other outreach efforts.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a proven track record of success in major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, and special events.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write compelling donor communications and marketing materials.
- Excellent leadership, management, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, Board members, and volunteers.
- Experience with fundraising software and donor databases.
- A deep commitment to the mission and values of our organization.
