- Are you passionate about helping students overcome barriers, and about personalized learning as a key to success?
- Do you have experience in public education, strong case management or counseling experience, with impeccable organizational skills?
- Have just the right touch for connecting with students 1:1 and maybe even existing relationships with Vermont high schools?
About the job:
Vermont Adult Learning is hiring an educational advisor to work with adult students (16+) in our GED program as they build skills, perform assessments, and acquire skills gains through an innovative and personalized learning approach to the GED.
This fully remote role (with access to a learning center near you if you choose) involves meeting with students regularly to co-design their personalized education plan, advise them through the inevitable challenges and successes along the path to their GED, and to ensure they have the transferable skills necessary upon completion.
About you:
The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter who can learn from existing staff members but is also willing to roll up their sleeves, asking for help when needed, and managing multiple priorities and program changes with patience and resilience.
If you have experience working with youth or adult learners, being an adult learner yourself, coaching or counseling, public education or other independent case management roles, you might be a great fit!
We're looking for curiosity, enthusiasm, patience, resilience, and a lifelong learner mindset. The most important attributes are an ability to connect 1:1 with students, and excellent organizational skills.
