Job Summary:
The RTSC Program Manager is a leader in the RTSC program, supporting daily operations, supervising staff, and guiding key activities related to training, technical assistance, and recruitment for both programs. The RTSC Program Manager will provide expertise and support regarding special education laws and issues impacting eligible students in state custody or care and the SESPs who support them statewide. This role will also focus on enhancing program visibility and effectiveness, maintaining compliance, and contributing to the strategic direction of the organization. As the RTSC Manager, this role will supervise and support staff. This role will report to the Federation’s Director of Volunteer Engagement and Recruiting.
Essential Job Functions:
- Program Leadership & Management: With the Director of Volunteer Engagement and Recruiting, oversee the RTSC Program’s day-to-day activities.
- Data Collection & Compliance: Compile and ensure timely data entry, collection, and analysis to meet program reporting needs.
- Public Awareness & Outreach: Collaborate with the team to strategize and implement recruitment initiatives to promote the SESP volunteer opportunities, including media engagement and representation at meetings, conferences, and events.
- Staff Supervision & Development: Supervise RTSC Program staff, ensuring ongoing professional development and effective performance management.
- Professional Knowledge Development: Continuously update knowledge of special education topics through research, networking, and resource exploration to provide informed leadership.
- Organizational Contribution: Actively participate in FCSN strategies and initiatives, including cross-departmental collaborations and staff meetings, supporting a unified “One Federation” approach.
- Additional Responsibilities: Take on other tasks and responsibilities as assigned to support the organization’s overall mission including participation on at least one “One Federation” team and the Visions of Community conference.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required. A combination of education and experience may be substituted.
- Experience providing presentations, webinars, and trainings.
- Experience in program management including supervision of staff, program development, fiscal management, and data collection.
- Knowledge of and experience working with families, including diverse families.
- Knowledge of MA special education laws and regulations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to facilitate group interactions.
- Able to meet designated deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in PC-based computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- May require a Massachusetts license, access to a vehicle and willingness to work occasional evenings or weekend days.
Note: This position is located at the Schrafft Center in Charlestown, MA. At least one workday in the office is required and employees may request other days to work from home.
